Das Protokoll Agent2Agent (A2A) erlaubt die Zusammenarbeit mehrerer unabhängiger Agenten, programmiersprachenübergreifend über das Netzwerk. Im Gegensatz dazu dient das komplementäre Model Context Protocol (MCP) der Kommunikation von Agenten mit Werkzeugen.

Eigenschaften

  • Ursprünglich entwickelt von Google (angekündigt April 2025), inzwischen unter dem Dach der Agentic AI Foundation (Teil der Linux Foundation) weitergeführt
  • Kommunikation via JSON-RPC 2.0 über HTTP(S).
  • Daten: Text, Dateien, JSON-Daten
  • Agenten definieren Ihre Fähigkeiten über "Skills" (inhaltlich) und "Agent Cards" (technisch, z.B. URL, Protokollversion, Media Types, Streaming)
  • SDKS für .NET, JavaScript, Java, Rust, Go u.a.
